Gérard Sorel, Agustín Larrea, Rafael Bustamante... Exhibition poster shows the several identities that accompanied Jorge Semprún during his time of clandestine militancy in the Communist Party of Spain (PCE). This multiplicity of identities reveals the essence of life in hiding during the years of Franco's dictatorship. Semprún's position on the front line provided him with information which, as time went by and in view of the lack of the expected results, led him to dissent from the positions of the party leadership.
The poster also reflects the title of the exhibition, Le grand voyage (The Long Journey), as Semprún entitled his first novel in 1963. In it, the author recalls his experience in the Buchenwald concentration camp. The work, censored by the Franco regime, was widely distributed internationally and was awarded the famous Formentor Prize.
